Furazabol (brand names Frazalon, Miotolan), also known as androfurazanol, is an analogue of theanabolic steroid stanozolol. Both Furazabol and Winstrol are modified Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) molecules; the former possesses a furazan group and the latter a pyrazole group. This presumably accounts for the different effects on blood lipids.

Furazabol reduces the blood fats and is used as a standard medicine for high cholesterol. It increases the HDL value (the good cholesterol) and lowers the LDL value (the bad cholesterol) in the same way.

An effective dosage of furazabol seems to begin in the range of 10-20 mg daily for men, taken for no longer than 6 or 8 weeks. At this level it seems to impart a measurable musclebuilding effect, which is usually accompanied by fat loss.

Doses of 30 mg per day or more considerably increase the anabolic potential of the drug, but at the expense of greater hepatotoxicity (from Llewellyn). Anecdotally, some uses have reported good results from much higher dosages, from 100mg to 300mg daily (see reference thread).
